Wear red for women in February

Move over emerald and cobalt because red commands the spotlight in February. The color of the month gets plenty of play on Valentine’s Day as lovers delight in receiving red gifts like roses and fancy red wrapped chocolates. Many will also celebrate this day by adding a pop of red to their neutral outfits. The fact that February is National Heart Month gives women an extra incentive to wear red all month long. The American Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red for Women campaign focuses attention on the leading cause of death among women, cardiovascular disease.

A ten year sponsor of Go Red for Women, Macy’s has raised forty million dollars for heart disease research and prevention efforts. They offer customers an exciting lineup of month long events, promotions and merchandise in stores across the country. Macy’s will also donate 10% of the purchase price of each of three exclusive red dresses to AHA through the end of the month.
